HCM: Staffing/IT Services
M&A: Sell-side
July 2010
Situation:
CSI was an $80 million regional provider of professional staffing services
CSI had developed a high-end consulting offering for healthcare IT which was very differentiated and high growth
The firm’s primary owner hired CHILDS to obtain financial diversification while also providing continued upside in
the business for the key managers
Process:
CHILDS contacted private equity firms, domestic strategic staffing buyers and international strategic staffing buyers
We also contacted domestic and international strategic IT services buyers for a potential carve-out of the healthcare
IT division
Result:
Recruit, the leading Japanese staffing firm, acquired CSI as its entry into the U.S. market
The CHILDS Difference:
Because of our depth in the staffing sector, Recruit had approached us about coming to the U.S., thus we knew of their
interest when many investment banks would not have found this buyer
Because of CSI’s growth and our in-depth analysis we were able to convince buyers to value CSI based on projected
results rather than historical results giving our client an excellent valuation
